P90X, Day 1 — Chest & Back

P90X Chest and BackThe Chest & Back rou­tine is one of my favorite in P90X. It’s hard­core push ups and pull ups. You feel beat up about half way through, but a half hour after fin­ish­ing, you feel great.

Since this is one of my favorites, I’ve been doing many of the exer­cises even though I haven’t been strictly fol­low­ing the P90X routine.

Dur­ing the first few times through this rou­tine last year, I would get nau­seous at about half way in. I stuck with it and it even­tu­ally went away. Make sure you know your limits.

So far a lit­tle sore today after going through this one. Will prob­a­bly feel it a bit more tomor­row morning.

One of the things that Tony Hor­ton rec­om­mends using for the pushup exer­cises are pushup bars. As I’ve said before, I’m a huge fan of the Per­fect Pushup. Instead of using the sta­tic pushup bars illus­trated, I sub­sti­tuted the rotat­ing Per­fect Pushup.
