A few years ago, I worked with this guy that swore by yoga. When I first heard him talk about how he did yoga, I laughed. At the time, hearing about a yoga class stirred images of an exercise studio filled with women in spandex performing weird stretches and poses.
Now this guy was 6’6″ and a solid 220 pounds. He told me that by incorporating yoga into his workout regimine, it helped him in with two key areas, flexibility and strength. Both of these were of great interest to me. One, because of the workout routines I had been doing for the previous few years had left me feeling tight and stiff in a few spots and, two, I was always looking for new ways to gain strength and limit plateaus.
Fast forward about two years. I now start seeing the P90X infomercials on a routine basis. What catches my attention? That P90X was developed based on the concept of “muscle confusion” and one of the routines it incorporated — yoga.
Yoga X is most certainly not a light workout. It gets the blood pumping and it gets the sweat flowing. The positions challenge not only your flexibility, but your strength and endurance. After I finished this routine this morning, I had a tremendous amount of energy that lasted through the day. Yoga X is a fantastic workout.
