Workout, Morning or Evening?

Morning run exerciseWhat time of day do you workout?

For me, I’ve found I get better results when I workout in morning. I feel that I get a better, longer workout in the morning. The burst of energy I get from the workout also seems to last throughout the day.

Granted, for some it takes more discipline to get up earlier to get a workout in before heading off to work. But, the stress of a 8 – 10 hour work day can take out any energy and initiative to exercise later in the day. I know after a tough, draining day at work, exercise is the last thing on my mind. That may be different for others that take out their stress by working out. But I’ve never found that to be good motivation.

One other thing I’ve found is that I get better sleep at night and feel more rested when I wake up when I workout in the morning.

Here is an article that lists the benefits of working out in the morning.

Do you feel you get better results exercising at one time of day over another?

I’d have to agree, I wouldn’t work out everyday if I didn’t get up at 5:15 to do my workout. I also have cut out caffeine almost completely doing that since I’m wide awake by the time I’m in the office.
