Even though the P90X planner lists every seventh day as either X Stretch or rest, I elect to go with X Stretch. One of the things I’ve learned since starting my first round of P90X last year is the importance of stretching.
I’ll be honest and say I never saw how important stretching is, well actually stretching to this extent. When I would hit the weight room in high school and college and when I joined the local gym later, I would hit the exercise bike or treadmill for 10 minutes to warm up then it would be off to the weights.
Now X Stretch, incorporates some of the techniques of Yoga X, and of course some of the stretches from the warmups of the other routines, but is nowhere near as intense. It will get the blood flowing and get you sweating. I think it’s a great routine for those that may not have taken stretching as seriously as they should have in the past, like me. It’s also a nice light routine that will help with the soreness you just might be feeling from your first week of P90X.
