P90X, Day 9 — Plyometrics, Round 2
I still haven’t completed a full Plyometrics workout, yet today was probably the best time through the routine. As I mentioned yesterday, one of the lessons Tony Horton preaches is that it takes time and commitment to improve.
One of Tony’s favorite quotes is “Do your best, and forget the rest.”. That kind of mentality will prevent you from losing motivation if you can’t hit a certain number or keep up with the pace. These workouts are difficult and the average person will most likely not be able to keep up right away. With time and making sure I didn’t get frustrated, I’ve been able to overcome some of the limitations I first encountered.
When I first started P90X last year, I would get nauseous about half way through many of the workouts. I almost threw up my first day doing the Chest and Back workout. In order to get past that limitation I continued to push myself, but made sure not to push to the point I injured myself.
So Plyometrics kicked my ass again today. I still wasn’t able to do the entire routine. But I did surpass a past limitation, so that’s a win. A small win, but still a win.
