It’s that time of the week. It’s time for that grueling workout, Legs and Back. While this one is a challenge for me, this had to be one of the best times through the routine for me. I guess since it is such a challenge for me I’m noticing the subtle improvements. It’s the same with Plyometics. I’m recognizing the smallest wins. But with a workout routine has hard as P90X, I feel you have to look for those types of wins as well, not just the big ones.
Since I am more focused this time around and learned from the mistakes I made previously, I’m using the small wins to stay motivated and to prevent frustration. I’m having more fun with it. I’m energized in the morning and look forward to pushing play. My mindset right now, this time through, is that all of these small wins, the small improvements, will add up to a much bigger win at the end of 90 days.
P90X will expose all of your fitness challenges. If you focus on what you can’t do instead of the small gains you are making, you will fall into the same trap I did last year. You will lose motivation and will dread each workout. You will welcome taking shortcuts instead of giving it your all. This is one of my lessons learned.
