P90X, Day 22 — Recov­ery and Yoga X

P90X Yoga XToday started the recov­ery week between Phase I and Phase II. This week doesn’t have any of the inten­sive mus­cle build­ing work­outs like Chest & Back or Shoul­ders & Arms so you have a chance to give those mus­cles a break in order to recu­per­ate and get stronger. But this week is no slouch.

Today was the first of two Yoga X work­outs. A great way to start off the work week in my opin­ion. The energy from this rou­tine lasts through the entire day. I know I keep say­ing it, but it’s a great ben­e­fit I get from it. One of the other ben­e­fits I’ve seen from it is with my legs and my ham­strings in particular.

My ham­strings are very tight and with some of the other work­outs like Kenpo X and Ply­o­met­rics, it’s obvi­ous that it’s a hin­drance. Some of the posi­tions in Yoga X give me the oppor­tu­nity to stretch out my ham­strings and work on improv­ing my flex­i­bil­ity in that area. I’m look­ing for­ward to the two yoga work­outs this week.
