Today was Yoga X and the end of the recovery week. I actually saw an improvement today during the yoga routine. Until now, when bending down to go into the plank position, I’ve had to step my feet back. Today I was actually able to jump my feet back. That’s good for someone who knows they have to work on their flexibility. It’s those small wins that make me happy. It’s something that tells me this is working.
I’ve mentioned how my hamstrings are very tight. It’s noticeable during some of the other P90X workouts. During Plyometrics, I can feel it with the swing kicks exercise. Some of the positions in Yoga X give me a chance to work on the hamstrings. I do have to be careful that I don’t push too hard and tear one.
For those that are skeptical about doing the yoga portion of P90X, give it a try. It’s a great morning exercise for me because the energy burst from it seems to last the entire day.
Tomorrow is the start of Phase II with Chest, Shoulders, & Triceps. It’s on to some new muscle building workouts. I’m looking forward to it.
