P90X, Day 28 — Yoga X and the End of Phase I

Today was Yoga X and the end of the recov­ery week. I actu­ally saw an improve­ment today dur­ing the yoga rou­tine. Until now, when bend­ing down to go into the plank posi­tion, I’ve had to step my feet back. Today I was actu­ally able to jump my feet back. That’s good for some­one who knows they have to work on their flex­i­bil­ity. It’s those small wins that make me happy. It’s some­thing that tells me this is working.

Yoga Warrior One poseI’ve men­tioned how my ham­strings are very tight. It’s notice­able dur­ing some of the other P90X work­outs. Dur­ing Ply­o­met­rics, I can feel it with the swing kicks exer­cise. Some of the posi­tions in Yoga X give me a chance to work on the ham­strings. I do have to be care­ful that I don’t push too hard and tear one.

For those that are skep­ti­cal about doing the yoga por­tion of P90X, give it a try. It’s a great morn­ing exer­cise for me because the energy burst from it seems to last the entire day.

Tomor­row is the start of Phase II with Chest, Shoul­ders, & Tri­ceps. It’s on to some new mus­cle build­ing work­outs. I’m look­ing for­ward to it.
