P90X, Day 29 — Chest, Shoulders, and Triceps
Phase II of P90X is here and it started out screaming. Chest, Shoulders, and Triceps is a strenuous workout isolating three muscle groups in the upper body. This routine starts off with slow motion pushups. Sounds easy, right? Wrong.
The slower you do pushups, the harder they are, it’s like adding resistance. With pushups, speed is your friend and the faster you go, the more reps you can do. By slowing your pace, it’s like adding weights with other exercises. The intensity is turned up later in the workout when the slow motion pushups are combined with standard speed pushups in one exercise. It’s unbelievable.
